BASE Project Enhances Science Education in Palestine and Jordan

The launch of the "Bologna Process for Science Education in Palestine and Jordan" (BASE) project has received significant media attention. Funded by the European Union and led by An-Najah National University under the Erasmus+ program, the project aims to improve higher education in Palestine and Jordan by adopting European Bologna Process standards, enhancing quality, and facilitating international academic recognition.

In his speech, Dr. Amjad Barham, Minister of Higher Education of Palestine, stressed the importance of the initiative, especially in light of the challenges faced by educational institutions in Palestine. Dr. Zafer Al-Saraireh, Head of the Higher Education Accreditation Commission in Jordan, highlighted the project's potential to improve education quality and prepare graduates for the labor market.

The project will also focus on skill-based learning, curriculum development, and strengthening academic cooperation with European institutions, all while ensuring sustainability and innovation in the education sector.

The BASE project project aims to elevate higher education in Palestine and Jordan by implementing the Bologna Process in one program chosen from the multiple programs in the colleges of science at each partner university in Palestine and Jordan. The project will utilise Bologna’s standards and philosophy to develop these selected programs by creating curricula and establishing the context and environment supporting this development at each HEIs.
