National-Level Reforms
The BASE project necessitates the development of robust laws and regulations at the national level, ensuring alignment with the Bologna Process. These regulations will address degree recognition, certificate equivalency, and quality assurance frameworks for higher education in Palestine and Jordan. This legislative groundwork is essential for harmonizing the higher education systems of both countries with international standards.
Project Activities Include
Create comprehensive benchmarks and best practice manuals, along with gap analysis tools, to be utilized throughout the project’s duration.
Evaluate the existing higher education systems at the ministries of higher education, as well as national accreditation and quality assurance bodies. The assessment will identify gaps and areas for development to align with the Bologna Process requirements.
Conduct assessments of the higher education institutions (HEIs) participating in the project from Palestine and Jordan. This evaluation will compare their current practices to best practices under the Bologna Process, outlining improvement plans tailored to each institution.
Enhance the skills and capacities of staff within the targeted programs to empower them to implement newly developed programs at their respective institutions effectively.
Monitor and review the outcomes of the newly implemented programs, sharing lessons learned to foster continuous improvement. This process will help universities replicate successful practices in other programs.
Sustainability and Dissemination Manual
Additionally, the project will focus on developing a manual to ensure the sustainability and dissemination of results.
This manual will serve as a resource for other universities in the partnering countries and beyond, enabling the broader application of the project’s successful practices.
