BASE Barcelona Training Sessions on Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance

The University of Barcelona hosted the BASE Barcelona Training Sessions from 3–6 February 2026, bringing together partners from Europe, Jordan, and Palestine for an intensive training programme focused on curriculum development and quality assurance in higher education. The sessions introduced participants to the University of Barcelona’s quality assurance system and European accreditation practices, alongside practical workshops on designing bachelor’s degree programmes in Physics, Computer Engineering, Biology, and Chemistry. The training aimed to strengthen science programme reform within the BASE project by sharing institutional expertise, accreditation models, and innovative methodologies aligned with the Bologna Process and European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).

Participants:
Academic staff and university managers from partner universities.

The BASE project project aims to elevate higher education in Palestine and Jordan by implementing the Bologna Process in one program chosen from the multiple programs in the colleges of science at each partner university in Palestine and Jordan. The project will utilise Bologna’s standards and philosophy to develop these selected programs by creating curricula and establishing the context and environment supporting this development at each HEIs.
