Exciting News!

We are pleased to announce that the BASE Project – Bologna for Science Faculties in Jordan and Palestine, led by An-Najah National University, has been officially nominated for the final decision to receive the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) label.

🌍 This nomination is a strong recognition of the project's regional impact in supporting the modernization of science education in Palestine and Jordan, and in enhancing Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the higher education sector.

🗓️ The final decision will be made during the UfM Senior Officials Meeting in September 2025.

What does the UfM label mean for the BASE Project?
🔹 Official political and institutional endorsement by all 43 UfM member states
🔹 Increased visibility and priority access to regional and international funding opportunities
🔹 Recognition of An-Najah National University as a regional leader in higher education reform
🔹 Stronger promotion and outreach through UfM platforms and networks
🔹 New opportunities for strategic partnerships across the Mediterranean and Europe

🌟 We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners from Palestinian, Jordanian, and European universities for their collaboration and support. We look forward to continuing this journey together — advancing science education across the Mediterranean region!

The BASE project project aims to elevate higher education in Palestine and Jordan by implementing the Bologna Process in one program chosen from the multiple programs in the colleges of science at each partner university in Palestine and Jordan. The project will utilise Bologna’s standards and philosophy to develop these selected programs by creating curricula and establishing the context and environment supporting this development at each HEIs.
